Paul McNamara is a Ph.D. Student and Departmental Assistant in the English Language and Literature Department at Mary Immaculate College. His Doctoral Thesis is titled ‘An Analysis of the Representation of Disability in Recent Popular Literature from a Post-colonial Perspective.’ His research interests include Disability Theory, Post-colonial Theory, Performance Poetry, Gender Studies, and Modern Irish Poetry and Theatre. He is an award-winning performance poet and playwright.  His work has been featured on TV3, RTÉ Radio and Sky TV channel Irish TV and at festivals such as Indiependence and Limerick Fringe and has been published widely. In April 2018 he ran a conference on Performance Poetry in Limerick titled ‘Poetry in Motion’.
